Dan Korzym, PE, CCM - Senior Project Manager, Preliminary Engineering
Mr. Korzym has more than 18 years progressive experience in project management, construction and engineering in the heavy/highway, rail/transit, infrastructure and public works. He is one of WMATA's most senior design and construction engineers. Recently, Mr. Korzym managed the PE design for the Largo Metrorail extension managed the $218 million Line, Trackwork and Systems Design/Build contract for the Largo extension. Selected for the position of Senior Project Manger, he is currently responsible for several WMATA construction projects in Virginia and the Authority's Parking Structure Program. Prior to joining WMATA, Mr. Korzym was a project manager for Construction Contractors, served as an Engineering Consultant and was a General Engineer for the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority. He is extensively familiar with the MWAA design criteria and the Dulles Airport facility, the Dulles Greenway and the Dulles Airport Access Highway/Dulles Toll Road Corridor. He holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Administration from The George Washington University and is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a B.S. degree in Engineering and Applied Science. Mr. Korzym is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia, a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and a candidate for the Design Build Institute of America's "DBIA" professional designation.
Thomas Crone, CCM - Project Manager, Program Management/Project Controls
Mr. Crone has more than 24 years of progressive experience in project management of transit, heavy underground and public works design and construction projects throughout North America. Mr. Crone has been managing the Budget and Project Controls functions on the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project since August of 2000. Mr. Crone has extensive experience in project controls and administration of major capital projects and understands the importance of project controls to the success of a major project. Before moving to the Dulles Project, Mr. Crone was the Project Coordinator for the $850 million Branch Avenue (F) Route Project having the responsibility for project controls, budget, grant and contract administration. Mr. Crone has held progressively more responsible management positions with national and regional construction contractors on major underground transit projects ranging from Field Engineer, Engineer/Estimator, Office Engineer and Project Manager. He holds a B.S. degree in Construction Engineering Technology from Montana State University and is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
Neil Nott, AIA - Project Manager, Stations and Facilities
Mr. Nott has more than 24 years of progressive experience associated with a variety of transit and institutional projects, with over 14 years directly involved with the design and construction of heavy rail transit stations and facilities. Mr. Nott's 14 years of experience in the design and construction of heavy rail transit stations and facilities include seven years serving as Senior Project Architect for the design/build BART SFO Extension, responsible for the planning, design and construction of, the $1.5 billion, 8.7 mile long design/build demonstration project. Currently, Mr. Nott is assigned as WMATA's Project Manager for Stations & Facilities, responsible for the technical oversight of the PE Consultants' work related to stations and facilities. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, and is a registered Architect.
Alan Kolodne, PE, CCM - Project Manager, Line, Trackwork and Structures
Mr. Kolodne has more than 29 years of progressive experience associated with both new heavy construction and structural rehabilitation of the WMATA Metrorail infrastructure. Prior to joining the Dulles project, Mr. Kolodne was assigned as Project Manager in WMATA's IRPG office, responsible for management and implementation of the rehabilitation program for the Right-of-Way Aerial, at-grade and tunnel facilities as well as parking garage structures. These responsibilities include all aspects of design and construction, from pre-design planning to commissioning including; program budgeting and scheduling, procurement planning, design and construction contract management, coordination with ongoing revenue operations and acceptance. Mr. Kolodne has also managed the Compressed Natural Gas Conversion programs (for building upgrades and fueling plant installation) for two Bus Division Facilities. Prior to that, Mr. Kolodne served as a Resident Engineer for 13 years and as part of the Resident Engineer's staff for the 10 years preceding in the administration of construction contracts for five underground cut and cover station and line contracts (averaging $60m each in value), three at-grade and two aerial station and line contracts. One of these assignments included the construction contract for the East Falls Church Station and Line in the I-66 right-of-way on the Orange/Vienna Line. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia and a Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
