DULLES CORRIDOR METRORAIL PROJECT - PHASE 2
Lane Closures and Detour Tonight on the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway and Airport Roads - Friday, August 5
Nighttime construction activities will take place Friday, August 5, causing lane closures and a detour on the Dulles Toll Road, Dulles International Airport Access Highway, Dulles Greenway and Airport Roads.
On Friday, August 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., the northbound and southbound lanes of Autopilot Drive from Rudder Road to the Hertz car rental facility at Dulles International Airport will be closed for the construction of the aerial guideway. Follow detour signs around the work area. All car rental facilities, including Hertz, will be accessible.
All work is weather dependent.

Dulles Toll Road (DTR) West
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.
What: Left lane closed
Where: From mile marker 4.0 to 3.3 (from 2/10 mile past the Fairfax County Parkway overpass to 1/10 mile past the Monroe Street overpass)
Why: Duct bank work
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Eastbound lane reductions begin at 9 p.m. Eastbound full closure begin at 10 p.m. Follow detour; EB DIAAH reopens at 5 a.m.
Where: From Saarinen Circle to mile marker 0.3 (near the Rudder Road overpass)
Why: Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound DIAAH
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
What: Left lane closed
Where: From mile marker 1.2 to 2.3 (from the Route 28 overpass to 2/10 mile before the Centreville Road bridge)
Why: Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Right lane closed
Where: From mile marker 4.3 to 5.3 (from 1/10 mile past the Fairfax County Parkway overpass to 1/10 mile past the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why: Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.
What: Right lane closed
Where: From mile marker 4.0 to 3.3 (from 2/10 mile past the Fairfax County Parkway overpass to 1/10 mile past the Monroe Street overpass)
Why: Road work
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
What: Right shoulder closed
Where: From mile marker 1.8 to 1.6 (from 6/10 mile before the Route 28 overpass, continuing for 2/10 mile)
Why: Road work
Rudder Road West
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.
What: Right lane closed
Where: From the ramp from the westbound DIAAH to Ariane Way/Blue Lot access road
Why: Duct bank work
Autopilot Drive North and South
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
What: Full closure of northbound and southbound lanes
Where: From Rudder Road to 700 feet north of Rudder Road (near the Hertz car rental facility). Follow detour.
Why: Aerial guideway construction
Dulles Greenway East
When: Friday, August 5, 7 p.m. - Sunday, August 7, 2 a.m.
What: Right lane closed
Where: From mile marker 10.2 to 11.6 (from 3/10 mile past the Broad Run bridge to 6/10 mile past the Old Ox Road overpass)
Why: Road work
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Two right lanes closed
Where: From mile marker 11.2 to 12.0 (from 2/10 mile past the Old Ox Road overpass to 4/10 mile before the mainline toll booth)
Why: Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound Dulles Greenway
When: Friday, August 5 - Saturday, August 6, 6 p.m. to 5 a.m
What: Left lane closed
Where: Along the ramp from the eastbound Dulles Greenway to the eastbound Dulles Toll Road
