Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project - Phase 2
Nighttime Construction Will Close Portions of the Dulles Access Highway and Dulles Greenway this Weekend.
TONIGHT, Jan. 26 - Sunday, Jan. 28
Nighttime construction at Innovation, Herndon Station, and Ashburn Station will take place this weekend, Friday, Jan. 26 - Sunday, Jan. 28, causing road closures on the Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) and Dulles Greenway. See below for more detailed information.
All work is weather permitting.
Drivers are asked to use caution, remain attentive to all signage, barricades and speed limits, and obey all police and flagger instructions. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering and exiting the highways and surrounding roads.
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
When: Friday, Jan. 26 to Saturday, Jan. 27, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Saturday, Jan. 27 to Sunday, Jan. 28, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Full closure of DIAAH westbound; traffic detoured to DTR westbound. No toll will be charged to airport traffic.
Where: From mile marker 9.0 to 1.8 (from 2/10 mile past the Beulah Road overpass to 6/10 mile before the Route 28 overpass). Follow detour. Airport traffic will use ramp at mile marker 1.8 to access the westbound DIAAH.
Why: Innovation and Herndon Stations construction
Dulles Greenway West
When: Friday, Jan. 26 - Saturday, Jan. 27, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
What: Full closure of the westbound Dulles Greenway between mile markers 11.8 and 8.3 (from 4/10 mile after the Main Toll Plaza to 2/10 mile after the Ashburn Village Boulevard overpass)
Where: Detour: Lane closures will begin at mile marker 11.8 (approximately 4/10 mile west of the Main Toll Plaza) where traffic will begin to merge right in order to take Exit 7 onto Loudoun County Parkway, then turn left onto Shellhorn Road, left onto Ashburn Village Boulevard, and re-enter the westbound Dulles Greenway from the right lane. Follow detour signage.
Why: Installation of a pedestrian bridge span for the Ashburn Metrorail Station.
