Nighttime Lane Closures on the Dulles Toll Road, Dulles International Airport Access Highway and Airport Roads – Tuesday, September 22, 2015
Construction activities will take place overnight on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 causing lane closures on the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) and Dulles Airport roads.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) East
When: Tuesday, September 22 - Wednesday, September 23, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 0.6 to 5.7 (from the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why: Jack and bore operations
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) West
When: Tuesday, September 22 - Wednesday, September 23, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 5.7 to 0.6 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway)
Why: Jack and bore operations
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
When: Tuesday, September 22 - Wednesday, September 23, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 5.7 to 3.2 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 2/10 mile after the Monroe Street overpass)
Why: Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
When: Tuesday, September 22 - Wednesday, September 23, 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures
Where: From mile marker 0.3 to 200 feet past Copilot Way (from 2/10 mile after the Rudder Road overpass, continuing along Saarinen Circle past Daily Garage 1), including ramps in the vicinity of Daily Garage 1
Why: Road widening
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH)/Saarinen Circle West
When: Tuesday, September 22 - Wednesday, September 23, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Right three lanes closed, intermittent stoppages of up to 20 minutes in remaining single lane
Where: As the westbound DIAAH transitions to Saarinen Circle and continuing in front of Daily Garage 1, traffic will be reduced to a single left lane. Stoppages of up to 20 minutes will occur after 1 a.m. Police will be on site for safety.
Why: Overhead sign installation and removal
Rudder Road
When: Tuesday, September 22 – Wednesday, September 23, 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Right lane closed
Where: Westbound Rudder Road from the ramp from the westbound DIAAH to the intersection with Ariane Way
Why: Utility work
