Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the
Week of Jan. 27 - Feb. 3

Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 2.  Lane, shoulder, road, and ramp closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway, Sunrise Valley Drive, Sunset Hills Road, Moran Road, and Herndon Parkway  during the week of Jan. 27 - Feb. 3. See below for more detailed information. In addition, Silver Line Phase 1 lane closures are planned for Monday, Jan. 22, through Thursday, Jan. 25, along the Dulles Toll Road, I-66, Route 123 and Old Meadow Road to examine underdrains and test for utility locations.

Beginning on or about night Friday, Feb. 3, and continuing for several months, heavy construction work that requires the use of a large crane will be taking place at Innovation, Herndon, and Reston stations. The crane must be positioned on the eastbound DIAAH which will cause frequent weeknight full closures of portions of the highway.  Work will take place at only one station each night and the locations of the closures will vary depending upon where the station work is taking place.  The detours will entail diverting eastbound DIAAH traffic onto the eastbound DTR, then returning it to the DIAAH beyond the location of the construction activity. Notifications specific to each closure will be issued in advance of the work.

All work is weather permitting.
Drivers are asked to use caution remain attentive to all signage, barricades and speed limits, and obey all police and flagger instructions. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering and exiting the highways and surrounding roads.
