Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the
Week of Jan. 7 - Jan. 13
 
Phase 2 Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing road widening and striping, lane shifting, utility work, excavation and other construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 2. Lane, shoulder, road and ramp closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway, Dulles Airport roads and surrounding roads during the week of Jan. 7 - Jan 13. In addition, lane closures are planned along the Dulles Toll Road East from the Idylwood Road overpass to the Chain Bridge Road overpass near the Phase 1 alignment to examine underdrains.

Drivers are asked to use caution remain attentive to all signage, barricades and speed limits, and obey all police and flagger instructions. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering and exiting the highways and surrounding roads.

Dulles Toll Road East
 
When:   Monday, Jan. 8 - Friday, Jan. 12, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, Jan. 13, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to midnight
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 1.3 to 5.2 (from 1/10 mile past the Route 28 overpass to the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Civil work
 
When:   Friday, Jan. 12 - Saturday, Jan. 13, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Full closure of eastbound DTR; traffic detoured to eastbound DIAAH.
Where:  Lane closures begin at mile marker 0.8 (3/10 mile after the Rudder Road overpass), with traffic detouring to the eastbound DIAAH just past the mainline toll booth. Eastbound DTR traffic will return to the toll road lanes at mile marker 2.7 (1/10 mile past the Centreville Road bridge. Traffic to Centreville Road will use the Fairfax County Parkway and Sunrise Valley Drive. Follow detour signage.

When:   Monday, Jan. 8, and Tuesday, Jan. 9, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What:    Close left lane
Where: From Chain Bridge Road overpass to 1,000 feet after the Magarity Road overpass
Why:     Proof underdrains
 
When:   Wednesday, Jan. 10, and Thursday, Jan. 11, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
             Friday, Jan. 12, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
What:    Close left lane
Where: From the Magarity Road overpass to 1,000 feet after Idylwood Road
Why:     Proof underdrains
 
Dulles Toll Road West
 
When:   Monday, Jan. 8 - Friday, Jan. 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, Jan. 13, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 1.5 (from approximately 2/10 mile after the Wiehle Avenue overpass to 3/10 mile before the Route 28 overpass)
Why:     Civil work
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
 
When:   Monday, Jan. 8 - Friday, Jan. 12, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Saturday, Jan. 13, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From Saarinen Circle to mile marker 5.7 (5/10 mile past the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Civil work
 
When:   Monday, Jan. 8 - Tuesday, Jan. 9, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Full closure of eastbound DIAAH; traffic detoured to eastbound DTR. No toll will be charged to airport traffic.
Where:  Lane closures begin at mile marker 0.8 (3/10 mile after the Rudder Road overpass), with traffic detouring to the eastbound DTR just past the mainline toll booth. Airport traffic will return to the eastbound DIAAH at mile marker 2.2 (3/10 mile before the Centreville Road bridge.  Follow detour signage.

When:   Monday, Jan. 8 - Jan. 12, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Saturday, Jan. 13, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. to midnight
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 200 feet past the ramp to Copilot Way on Saarinen Circle (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 6/10 mile past the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:     Civil work
 
When:   Friday, Jan. 12 - Saturday, Jan. 13, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
What:    Full closure of DIAAH westbound; traffic detoured to DTR westbound. No toll will be charged to airport traffic.
Where:  From mile marker 9.0 to 1.8 (from 2/10 past the Beulah Road overpass to 6/10 mile before the Route 28 overpass). Follow detour. Airport traffic will use ramp at mile marker 1.8 to access the westbound DIAAH.

Dulles Greenway East
 
When:   Monday, Jan. 8 - Thursday, Jan. 12, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
Saturday, Jan. 13, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 7.6 and 14.0 (from Broadlands Boulevard to the end of the ramp to the eastbound Dulles Toll Road), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur

Dulles Greenway West
 
When:   Monday, Jan. 8 - Friday, Jan. 12, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
             Saturday, Jan. 13, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 12.2 and 7.6 (from 2/10 mile past the mainline toll plaza to Broadlands Boulevard), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur

What:    10 minute stoppages

Where:  From 400 feet west of Town Center Parkway to 600 feet east of Town Center Parkway
