Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the
Week of July 8 - 14
 
Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews continue construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 2, that require lane, shoulder, road closures and detours at locations along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway, Autopilot Drive, Centreville Road, Herndon Parkway, and Sunset Hills Road during the week of July 8 - 14, 2018. In addition, there will be lane closures along Route 7 in the Tysons area to permit work near the Spring Hill and Greensboro stations.
 
See below for more specific dates, times and details and remember that all work is weather permitting.
 
PLEASE USE CAUTION and remain attentive to all signage, barricades and speed limits, and obey all police and flagger instructions. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering and exiting the highways and surrounding roads.

Dulles Toll Road East
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, July 14, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 1.3 to 5.7 (from just west of the Route 28 overpass to the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Civil work
 
When:   Thursday, July 12, 10 pm. to 5 a.m.
What:    Three left lanes closed with intermittent 20 minute stoppages of the right through lane after midnight.
Where:  From mile marker 3.5 to 5.0 (between the Monroe Street/Van Buren Street and Reston Parkway overpasses)
Why:     Pedestrian bridge construction
 
Dulles Toll Road West
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, July 14, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 1.5 (between the Route 28 and Reston Parkway overpasses)
Why:     Civil work
 
When:   Friday, July 13, 10 pm. to 6 a.m.
What:    Three left lanes closed with intermittent 20 minute stoppages of the right through lane after midnight.
Where:  From mile marker 5.1 to 3.5 (between the Reston Parkway and Monroe Street/Van Buren Street overpasses)
Why:     Pedestrian bridge construction
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, July 14, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 0.0 to 5.7 (from the Aviation Drive overpass to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Civil work
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             Saturday, July 14, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 7.3 to 0.0 (from approximately 7/10 mile west of Hunter Mill Road to approximately 200 feet beyond the Copilot Way ramp on Saarinen Circle near the Dulles Airport Terminal)
Why:     Civil and Dulles Airport Metrorail Station work will be taking place within the closures
 
When:   Saturday, July 14, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
What:    Full closure
Where:  From mile marker 9.1 to 1.8 (between the Beulah Road and Route 28 overpasses), airport-bound traffic will be diverted to the westbound Dulles Toll Road.\
Why:     Pedestrian bridge construction
 
Autopilot Drive North
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Friday, July 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From 500 feet north of Rudder Road to 700 feet south of Materials Road (from the Hertz car rental facility to the Budget car rental facility)
Why:     Civil work
 
Dulles Greenway East
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Friday, 13, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
             Saturday, July 14, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
What:    Alternating left and right lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 7.6 to 14.0 (from Exit 5/Claiborne Parkway and continuing to the Main Toll Plaza)
Why:     Civil work
 
Dulles Greenway West
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Friday, 13, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
             Saturday, July 14, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
What:    Alternating left and right lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 12.2 to 7.6 (from approximately 3/10 mile west of the Main Toll Plaza to Broadlands Boulevard overpass)
Why:     Civil work
 
Centerville Road North and South
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Thursday, July 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
             Friday, July 13, 9:30 a.m. to noon
What:    Alternating left and right lane closures
Where:  From 500 feet north of the Dulles Toll Road (DTR) to 500 feet south of the DTR
Why:     Civil work
 
Sunset Hills Road East
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Thursday, July 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday, July 13, 9:30 a.m. to noon
What:    Two left lanes closed
Where:  From 500 feet west to 500 feet east of 12011 Sunset Hills Road
Why:     Civil work
 
Herndon Parkway East
 
When:   Monday, July 9 - Thursday, July 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday, July 13, 9:30 a.m. to noon p.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where: From 1000 feet east of Van Buren Street to 800 feet west of Exchange Place
Why:     Equipment mobilization
 
Leesburg Pike (Route 7) East
 
When:   Monday, July 9 -- Thursday, July 12, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Right thru lane of eastbound Rt. 7 closed
Where: From eastbound ramp of Rt. 267 to Marshalls Dr.
Why:     Storm Sewer Pipe Maintenance

When:   Friday, July 13, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Right thru lane of westbound Rt. 7 closed
