Important Lane and Ramp Closures for
the Week of September 6 - September 12
Phase 2 Barrier Installation, Utility Work, and Other Construction Activities Continue along the Dulles Toll Road, Dulles International Airport Access Highway, Dulles Greenway and Airport Roads
Phase 2 Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing road widening, barrier installation, utility work, and other construction activities. Lane and shoulder closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway, Autopilot Drive and Rudder Road the week of September 6 – September 12.

Dulles Toll Road (DTR) East
When: Sunday, September 6 - Saturday, September 12, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 0.6 to 5.7 (from the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why: Jack and bore operations
When: Sunday, September 6 - Saturday, September 12, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What: Ramp narrows, left and right side
Where: Along the ramp to the eastbound DTR from southbound Route 28, and along the ramp from the eastbound DTR to northbound Route 28
Why: Jack and bore operations
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) West
When: Sunday, September 6 - Saturday, September 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 5.7 to 0.6 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway)
Why: Jack and bore operations

When: Sunday, September 6, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Monday, September 7 - Friday, September 11, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Saturday, September 12, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 3.2 to 5.7 (from 2/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why: Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane

Where: From mile marker 0.3 to 200 feet past Copilot Way (from 2/10 mile after the Rudder Road overpass, continuing along Saarinen Circle past Daily Garage 1), including ramps in the vicinity of Daily Garage 1

Dulles Greenway East
When: Tuesday, September 8, Noon to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, September 9 - Friday, September 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: Between mile marker 8.6 and 12.2 (from 1/10 mile after the Ashburn Village Boulevard overpass to 2/10 mile before the mainline toll plaza), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why: Road work
Dulles Greenway West
When: Tuesday, September 8, Noon to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, September 9 - Friday, September 11, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: Between mile marker 12.0 and 8.6 (from 3/10 mile after the mainline toll plaza to 1/10 mile before the Ashburn Village Boulevard overpass), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why: Road work
Autopilot Drive
When: Sunday, September 6 - Saturday, September 12, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Full closure of northbound lanes
Where: Northbound lanes of Autopilot Drive from Rudder Road to Materials Road closed;
northbound traffic will be shifted to the southbound lanes
Why: Superstructures work

When: Sunday, September 6, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Monday, September 7 - Friday, September 11, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Where: Westbound Rudder Road from the ramp from the westbound DIAAH to the intersection with Ariane Way
