DULLES CORRIDOR METRORAIL PROJECT
Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the 
 Week of June 7 - June 13 
 
Phase 1 road/station work and inspections along Route 7, Route 123, Frontage Road, Westpark Drive, Colshire Drive, Dulles Connector Road (DCR) and I-66 will continue the week of June 13, 2015 causing multiple lane closures.
 
Phase 2 Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing barrier installation, utility work, and other construction activities.  Lane and shoulder closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road (DTR), Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH), Dulles Greenway and Route 28 the week of June 7 - June 13.  See below for more detailed information.

Please see the details for all of these activities as well as other lane, ramp and shoulder closures that have been approved for the week June 13, 2015.  All closures are weather permitting and subject to change.  All night shift lane closures will have police escorts onsite for enhanced public safety.
 
Leesburg Pike (Route 7) East
 
When:  Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 11, 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Friday, June 12, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
What:   Right thru lane of Route 7 eastbound closed
Where: From DTR to 600 feet east of Spring Hill Road
Why:    Handicap ramps repair punch list
 
When:  Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 11, 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  
Friday, June 12, 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:   Right thru lane of Route 7 eastbound closed
Where: From 600 feet west of Westpark Drive to Route 123

Frontage Road  (F-773)
 
When:  Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 11, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday, June 12, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:   Northbound/southbound alternating Frontage Road flagging operation
Where: From 600 feet east of Route 7 to 200 feet east of Route 7
Why:    Shoulder widening
 
Route 123
 
When:  Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 11, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday, June 12, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:   Right turn lane of Route 123 southbound to Capital One Drive closed
Where: From 50 feet north of Capital One Drive to 50 feet south of Capital One Drive
Why:    Electrical repair at overhead sign
 
Dulles Connector Road (DCR)
 
When:  Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 11, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday, June 12, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
What:   One left lane westbound DCR 
Where: From 1500 feet west of Pimmit Run to Chain Bridge Road
Why:    Lane - placement of concrete for MB-7 walls
 
When:  Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 11, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday, June 12, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
What:   Northbound/southbound alternating Frontage Road flagging operation
Where: From 600 feet east of Route 7 to 200 feet east of Route 7
Why:    Shoulder work
 
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) East
 
When:   Sunday, June 7 - Saturday, June 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 0.6 to 4.2 (from the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway to the Fairfax County Parkway overpass)
Why:     Jack and bore operations

Where:  Along the ramp to the eastbound DTR from southbound Route 28

What:    Two left lanes closed
Where:  From mile marker 2.9 to 1.4 (from 4/10 mile before the Centreville Road overpass to 2/10 mile before the Route 28 overpass)
Why:     Electrical duct bank work
 
When:   Sunday, June 7 - Saturday, June 13, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 4.2 to 0.6 (from the Fairfax County Parkway overpass to the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway)
Why:     Jack and bore operations
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) East
 
When:   Sunday, June 7 - Saturday, June 13, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 0.3 to 2.7 (from 2/10 mile before the Rudder Road overpass to 2/10 mile past the Centreville Road overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:   Sunday, June 7 - Saturday, June 13, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 3.2 to 5.7 (from 2/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
 
When:   Sunday, June 7 - Saturday, June 13, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 2.7 to 0.3 (from 2/10 mile before the Centreville Road overpass to 2/10 mile past the Rudder Road overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:   Sunday, June 7 - Saturday, June 13, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  From mile marker 5.7 to 3.2 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 2/10 mile after the Monroe Street overpass)
Why:     Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
 
When:   Sunday, June 7 - Saturday, June 13, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures
Where:  From mile marker 0.3 to 200 feet past Copilot Way (from 2/10 mile after the Rudder Road overpass, continuing along Saarinen Circle past Daily Garage 1)
Why:     Road Work
 
Dulles Greenway East
 
When:   Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12, 10 a.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Right lane closed
Where:  From mile marker 14.0 where the overpass crosses Route 28 to the intersection of the eastbound Dulles Greenway and the eastbound DTR
Why:     Barrier installation
 
When:   Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12, 10 a.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where:  Between mile marker 8.6 and 12.2 (from 1/10 mile after the Ashburn Village Boulevard overpass to 2/10 mile before the mainline toll plaza), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:     Barrier installation, grading, paving
 
Dulles Greenway West
 
When:   Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What:    Left lane closed
Where:  Between mile marker 10.9 and 8.6 (from 1/10 mile after the Old Ox Road overpass to 1/10 mile before the Ashburn Village Boulevard overpass), short lane closures of varying lengths will occur
Why:     Barrier installation, grading, paving
 
Route 28
 
When:   Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What:    Right shoulder closed
Where:  Southbound Route 28 along the ramp to the westbound DIAAH
Why:     Construction entrance, barrier installation
 
Access to all businesses in the construction areas along Routes 7 is maintained throughout the work periods. Motorists should stay alert, use extreme caution, and be prepared to allow extra time or alter their travel along these roads.
