Daily Lane Closures Remain Along Old Meadow Road, Route 123 in Tysons, March 28 - April 3

Daily Lane Closures Remain Along Old Meadow Road, 
Route 
123 in Tysons, March 28 - April 3
 
Motorists traveling along northbound and soundbound Route 123, and eastbound Old Meadow Road will see continued daily lane closures as crews perform utility work in preparation of the Old Meadow Road realignment with Capital One Tower Drive. Lane closures are planned for Saturday, March 28, through Friday, April 3, and are needed to permit the relocation of various utilities. The closures are expected to remain for several more weeks.
 
The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project is performing the work because of impacts caused by Silver Line construction near McLean Metrorail Station.  Please see below for more detailed information.
 
Route 123 - South
 
When:   Saturday, March 28, 9 p.m. - 9 a.m., and Sunday, March 29, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.
What:    Right turn lane closure
Where:  From 200 feet before Capital One Drive to Capital One Drive
Why:     Signal relocation
 
When:   Sunday, March 28, 9 p.m. - 9 a.m., and Sunday, March 29, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.
What:    Left turn lane closure
Where:  From 100 feet before Old Meadow Road to Old Meadow Road
Why:     Barrier installation, adjust road markings
 
When:   Monday, March 30, through Thursday, April 2, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., and Friday, April 3, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. 
What:    Left turn lane closure
Where:  From 200 feet before Old Meadow Road to Old Meadow Road
Why:     Utility relocation
 
Route 123 - North
 
When:   Saturday, March 28, 9 p.m. - 9 a.m., and Sunday, March 29, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.
What:    Double right lane closure
Where:  From I-495 underpass to 100 feet passed Old Meadow Road
Why:     Barrier installation, adjust road markings
 
When:   Monday, March 30, through Thursday, April 2, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., and Friday, April 3, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. 
What:    Right turn lane closure
Where:  From 200 feet before Old Meadow Road to Old Meadow Road
Why:     Utility relocation work
 
Old Meadow Road - East
 
When:   Saturday, March 28, 9 p.m. - 9 a.m., and Sunday, March 29, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.
What:    Right lane closure
Where:  From Route 123 to Colshire Meadow Road
Why:     Barrier installation, adjust road markings
 
When:   Monday, March 30, through Thursday, April 2, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., and Friday, April 3, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. 
What:    Right lane closure
Where:  From Route 123 to Colshire Meadow Road
Why:     Utility relocation
 
Old Meadow Road - West
When:  Saturday, March 28, 9 p.m. - 9 a.m., and Sunday, March 29, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.
What:   Right lane closure
Where: From Colshire Meadow Road to Route 123
Why:    Adjust road markings
 
All work is weather dependent and subject to change. 
 
Signs and barrels will be used to help direct traffic and minimize impacts.  Drivers should use extreme caution in the areas and allow extra time to travel in these areas.
