Detour of the Westbound Dulles Airport Access Highway Saturday, Sept. 15, at 10 p.m. to Sunday, Sept. 16, at 6 a.m.
On or about Saturday, Sept. 15 at 10 p.m. and continuing until Sunday, Sept. 16 at 6 a.m., weather permitting, Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews will continue installing electrical, plumbing and fire suppression equipment on the underside of the Silver Line Phase 2 pedestrian bridges that cross over the westbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH). Saturday, Sept. 15, 10 p.m. to Sunday, Sept. 16, 6 a.m.:
Figure 1: On Saturday night, Sept. 15, the westbound Dulles Access Highway will be diverted to the westbound Dulles Toll Road.
Figure 2: Airport-bound traffic will return to the westbound Dulles Access Highway just before the Route 28 overpass.
Utility work on the pedestrian bridges is expected to continue during the fall months. Additional notifications that detail the traffic control methods specific to each operation and provide directions for any detours that may be required will be forthcoming. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all signage and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the roadways at various times.
