Early Saturday Detour of the
Eastbound Dulles Airport Access Highway
Saturday, Oct. 14, 4 a.m. - Noon

On or about Saturday, Oct. 14, from 4 a.m. until noon, the eastbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) will be diverted to the eastbound Dulles Toll Road (DTR) near the site of the Silver Line's Innovation Center Station. Lane closures will also occur on the Dulles Toll Road (DTR) and the Dulles Greenway, while Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews continue construction of the pedestrian bridges at the Silver Line Phase 2 Innovation Center Metrorail Station. Eastbound Dulles Airport traffic will be impacted. See details below.

Saturday, Oct. 14, 4 a.m. to Noon:

  • The left lane of the ramp from the eastbound Dulles Greenway to the eastbound DTR will be closed.
  • Eastbound DIAAH traffic at Centreville Road will be diverted to the Dulles Toll Road at mile marker 0.2. Signage will be in place to direct drivers.
  • Eastbound DIAAH traffic between mile markers 1.8 and 2.2 (from 6/10 mile after the Rt. 28 overpass to 3/10 mile before the Centreville Road bridge) will be diverted to the left lane of the eastbound Dulles Toll Road (DTR). See Figure 1.
  • Eastbound DTR traffic will be restricted to the two right lanes.
  • Eastbound DIAAH traffic will return to the DIAAH at mile marker 2.2, just prior to the Centreville Road bridge and all lanes will be available for eastbound DTR use.
Figure 1:  Traffic on the eastbound DIAAH will be diverted to the eastbound DTR.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all police and flagger instructions, signage, and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the highways at various times.
