Intermittent Closures of Exit 8A from Dulles Greenway East
Monday, Feb. 26 - Wednesday, Feb. 28
On or about Monday, Feb. 26 to Wednesday, Feb. 28, Exit 8A to westbound Old Ox Road (Rte.606) from the eastbound Dulles Greenway, will close approximately 10-15 minutes intermittently while Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews take delivery of and off-load a large pre-fabricated building that will house Silver Line systems elements. The work will take place during off-peak travel times, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the day and from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. at night.
During a stoppage, westbound Rte. 606 traffic will be diverted to Exit 8B (Old Ox Road-Rte. 606). Detour signage will instruct drivers to turn right onto Rte. 606 east and, in approximately 3/10 miles, make a U-turn at the first stop light (Moran Road) onto Rte. 606 west. Normal traffic patterns will resume between stoppages. Please refer to the drawing below.
Drivers are asked to use caution and remain attentive to all signage and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the highway at various times. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
