Lane Closures on Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride Entrance and Sunrise Valley Drive – Aug. 24 – Sept. 1

Lane Closures on Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride Entrance
and Sunrise Valley Drive - Aug. 24 - Sept. 1
 
On or about Thursday, Aug. 24 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, Aug. 25 from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. (with Monday Aug. 28, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., as an alternate date), Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews will be installing utilities on the entrance road to the Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride. 
 
Then, beginning on or about Monday, Aug. 28 through Monday, Sept. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., similar work will take place during the day on eastbound Sunrise Valley Drive at the intersection with Roark Drive.

Herndon Monroe Park & Ride (HMP&R) Entrance Road: 
  • NIGHT WORK:  Aug. 24, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Aug. 25, 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. (with Monday night, August 28, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., as back-up if necessary) 
  • The right turn lane on westbound Sunrise Valley Drive into the HMP&R will be closed.
  • The northbound lanes of the HMP&R entrance road from Sunrise Valley Drive to the parking garage entrance will be closed, with traffic diverted to the southbound lanes.
  • Flaggers and police will be in place to direct traffic as needed through the intersection.
  • Access to and from the facility will be maintained at all times.
  
 
Sunrise Valley Drive, westbound, at Roark Drive Intersection: 
  • DAY WORK:  9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, Aug. 28, 29, 30, 31 and Sep. 1
  • The two right lanes of westbound Sunrise Valley Drive will be closed.
  • Flaggers and police will be in place to direct traffic as needed through the intersection.
  • Access to and from the facility will be maintained at all times.
 
Drivers are asked to use caution, remain attentive to all signage, barricades and speed limits, and obey all police and flagger instructions. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering and exiting the roads.
