Overhead Utility Removal Will Cause 20-Minute Delays on Eastbound and Westbound Dulles Greenway
Thursday, March 7, 10 p.m. to Friday, March 8, 5 a.m.
Beginning on or about Thursday, March 7 at 10 p.m. to Friday, March 8 at 5 a.m.,Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project (DCMP) crews will be removing overhead communication lines along the eastbound and westbound Dulles Greenway, requiring the full closure of two left lanes on each side beginning at mile marker 8.5, about a half a mile west of Ashburn Village Boulevard and continuing to mile marker 10.0, just east of Loudoun County Parkway. Traffic from the eastboundand westbound Dulles Greenway should be aware of the change in pattern and can expect up to 20 minute full stoppages by Virginia State Police to ensure safe removal of the overhead lines (see image below).
All work is weather dependent and subject to change. Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all signage and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the highway at various times.
