DULLES CORRIDOR METRORAIL PROJECT - PHASE 2
SAFETY REMINDER: Back to School
MAKING PROGRESS and STAYING SAFE:
During the past several months, Dulles Corridor visitors, residents, businesses and commuters will have witnessed the Reston Town Center, Herndon, and Innovation Center Stations rising up within the tight confines of the Dulles Access Highway median; the aerial guideway that will carry Metrorail passengers to the Dulles Airport Station and through the Airport; and the Loudoun Gateway and Ashburn Stations, also well underway in the median of the Dulles Greenway.
Pedestrian bridges cross over the highways and connect to pavilions on the north and south sides of the Dulles Toll Road and Greenway where future passengers will begin or end their journeys. Supporting infrastructure facilities such as traction power substations and the Rail and Maintenance Yard are being built.
However, while much has been accomplished there is still much to be done. The employees working to complete Phase 2 to completion are grateful for the support provided by our community. We ask for continued patience, particularly on the highways that encompass the project.
The safety of the public and the project's employees continues to be our number one priority. Now that schools are back in sessions, roads are even more congested. Drivers should always stay alert to changing traffic conditions and the activities of large construction machines that will continue to share the highways both day and night.
