Sunrise Valley Drive and Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride Roadway Improvement Work Begins Monday, Jan. 9, 2017
On or about Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews will begin the preliminary work for roadway improvements on Sunrise Valley Drive near the Herndon-Monroe Park and Ride. The improvements are part of the Herndon Metrorail Station that is being built in the median of the Dulles Airport Access Highway/Dulles Toll Road corridor.
Initial activities will include installing erosion and sediment controls, clearing trees along westbound Sunrise Valley Drive and near the existing parking garage, utility relocations, widening the westbound lanes of Sunrise Valley Drive, and building a new West Entrance Road to the existing parking garage. Additional construction activities will follow, and continue through the end of 2018.
