Weeknight Detours of the Eastbound Dulles Access Highway
Will Continue into Late Spring
Over the next several months, between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night, portions of the eastbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the eastbound Dulles Toll Road (Toll Road). This work is expected to begin in early February.
Lane closures will also occur on the Dulles Toll Road (Toll Road) and the Dulles Greenway. The detours and lane closures will allow Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews to continue heavy construction work near Innovation Station, Herndon Station, and Reston Station. The detours are necessary so that a large crane can be positioned on the eastbound DIAAH.
Work will take place at only one station per night. The location for each night's work will be determined the following day, based on the progress made the previous night. Each station detour is described below. More detailed information will be released as the work progresses.
On the nights when work is taking place at Innovation Station, the detour will be as follows:
On the nights when work is taking place at Herndon Station, the detour will be as follows:
On the nights when work is taking place at Reston Station, the detour will be as follows:
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all signage and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the highway at various times.
