Pedestrian Bridge Work Over
Dulles Airport Access Highway and Dulles Toll Road
Will Require Lane and Road Closures in July
Beginning on or about Friday night, July 6, Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews will begin installing electrical, plumbing and fire suppression equipment on the underside of the pedestrian bridges that cross over the Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) and Dulles Toll Road (DTR). The work is expected to continue through the month of July.
The work will take place at night, over weekends (with the possible exception of a Thursday night at Reston Station's south pedestrian bridge), between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. To ensure the safety of the traveling public, road and lane closures and possible short duration traffic stoppages will be utilized, depending on the location of the work each night.
Individual notifications will be issued detailing the traffic control methods specific to each operation and provide directions for any detours that may be required. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to all signage and barricades. Large, slow-moving vehicles may be exiting and entering the roadways at various times.
