Important Lane and Ramp Closures for the
Week of January 10 – January 16
Phase 1 Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are completing spoil removal and flush and video tape storm drain and under drain activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 1. Lane closures will occur along I – 66 West and Leesburg Pike (Route 7) during the week of Jan. 10 – Jan. 16.
Phase 2 Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project crews are continuing road widening, lane shifting, utility work, excavation and other construction activities for the Metrorail Silver Line, Phase 2. Lane and shoulder closures will occur along the Dulles Toll Road, Dulles International Airport Access Highway, Dulles Greenway, Autopilot Drive, Rudder Road, Sunrise Valley Drive and Sunset Hills Road during the week of Jan. 10 – Jan. 16.

What: Right lane closure
Where: From 2000 feet east of Great Falls Street to Idylwood Road
Why: Flush and video tape storm drains and under drains
Leesburg Pike (Route 7)
When: Monday, Jan. 11 – Wednesday, Jan. 12, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What: Right lane closure
Where: From exit ramp from the Dulles Toll Road (DTR) East onto Leesburg Pike (Route 7) to Spring Hill Road.
Why: Removal of spoils at Spring Hill station
Dulles Toll Road (DTR) East
When: Sunday, Jan. 10 - Saturday, Jan. 16, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating double right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 1.2 to 5.3 (from the Route 28 overpass to 1/10 mile past the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why: Lane shifting
When: Sunday, Jan. 10 - Saturday, Jan. 16, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 0.0 to 5.7 (from the overpass of the ramp to the northbound Dulles Greenway to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why: Jack and bore operations

What: Ramp narrows, left and right side
Where: Along the ramp to the eastbound Dulles Toll Road from southbound Route 28, and along the ramp from the eastbound Dulles Toll Road to northbound Route 28

Why: Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
When: Sunday, Jan. 10 - Saturday, Jan. 16, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 3.2 to 5.7 (from 2/10 mile before the Monroe Street overpass to 5/10 mile after the Reston Parkway overpass)
Why: Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
When: Sunday, Jan. 10 – Saturday, Jan. 16, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Eastbound lane reductions begin at 9 p.m. Eastbound full lane closures begin at 10 p.m. Road reopens at 5 a.m. Follow detour.
Where: From Saarinen Circle to mile marker 0.4 (near the Rudder Road overpass)
Why: Installation of a concrete span across the eastbound DIAAH.
Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) West
When: Sunday, Jan. 10 - Saturday, Jan. 16, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 2.7 to 0.0 (from 2/10 mile before the Centreville Road overpass to 5/10 mile past the Rudder Road overpass)
Why: Construction entrance acceleration/deceleration lane
When: Sunday, Jan. 10 - Saturday, Jan. 16, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
What: Alternating right and left lane closures of varying lengths
Where: From mile marker 5.7 to 3.2 (from 5/10 mile before the Reston Parkway overpass to 2/10 mile after the Monroe Street overpass)
